A CONVERSATION AND Q&A WITH JASON M PETERSON AND JEREMY DEPUTAT 5PM-7PM (PRIOR TO THE OPENING) // HOSTED BY RICK WILLIAMS JASON M PETERSON // PHOTOGRAPHER // COO AT HAVAS WORLDWIDE Jason M Peterson is a master of black and white photography. Drawing inspiration from urban landscape and the human condition within it, Jason manages to capture images that are sharp in clarity and alluring in contrast. Negative space is used effortlessly and the faceless subjects flow perfectly within each image. Influenced by iconic photographers of the past, Jason creates smooth and powerful compositions that breed a dark and mysterious fantasy. For more than 20 years, Jason has been igniting cultural conversations across all media, including digital, television, print, content and brand identity. Jason is responsible for creating and overseeing integrated campaigns for Reebok, NBA, Coke USA/Japan, Heineken, Ford, GM, McDonald’s, StateFarm and many more. He is currently Chief Creative Officer of Havas Worldwide. Beyond mainstream brand building, Jason has been tapped by some of the world’s leading luxe brands (Dom Perignon, Chicago’s Soho House, Bloomingdale’s, NHL and Volvo, to name a few) to create buzz-building social campaigns based on his signature black and white photos and over 700,000 Instagram followers. JEREMY DEPUTAT // PHOTOGRAPHER // ART DIRECTOR Born and raised in The Motor City, commercial photographer and art director Jeremy Deputat epitomizes what Detroit is all about: self-made with style and a bit of grit. Art, culture, and music have influenced Jeremy since he was young and both a passion to create and fascination with capturing life on film lead him to pursue a creative career as a photographer. He shot his first cover with a point and shoot camera and despite having no formal photography training, he has secured an impressive client list executing campaigns for major brands around the world. Whether he’s shooting a print campaign in Hong Kong for Adidas Originals, traveling to Africa with Eminem, or shooting the visuals for Dr. Dre’s most recent Compton album, there isn’t much you can throw at him that he can’t turn into a dynamic and successful shoot. While he continues to gain inspiration from his flagship studio in Detroit, he stacks frequent flyer miles traveling back and fourth to Los Angeles absorbing the bi-coastal culture while constantly learning, challenging himself and exploring what’s next. RICK WILLIAMS // PHOTOGRAPHER // CREATIVE DIRECTOR Rick Williams encompasses over ten years of marketing and brand development experience through spearheading various individual and collaborative marketing projects. Co-owner of Burn Rubber Sneaker Boutique in Metro Detroit has provided Williams with a visionary approach to business and an understanding of the psychology of why buyers buy, how to grow a retail space into an iconic brand and market-trend analysis. Williams business acumen and marketing experience coupled with instinct is what has allowed him to survive in business. Williams created the Distinct Life originally as an outlet for his creative ideas, it has since developed into an agency that provides creative services for brands to connect with their audiences by helping them find their authentic voice. From the beginning stages of logo development and social media strategies and campaigns to more complex workings of photography and special project development. Oftentimes it is difficult for a business to actually know what their brand is, through research and consumer analysis the Distinct Life helps companies find what the consumer is saying or not saying about their brand. Williams gained numerous collaborations and projects with major companies such as New Balance, Saucony, Reebok, JanSport, Bicycle Playing Cards, New Era, Mitchell and Ness, Puma and Beats by Dre.
